"I have had the same New Year resolution for years. I was probably in the same shoes as a lot of people, I had no energy, I was unhappy, and uncomfortable in my own skin. I was living a life I didn’t want to live.
📆Each year I was giving the same excuses. “I’m too tired.” “I don’t have time.” “I’m not strong enough.”
Mentally, I was weak. The moment when things got hard, I claimed defeat. As soon as someone offered me that slice of cake or dessert, I reached for it.
Throughout the years I tried different weight loss programs, but I always failed.
In 2018, I went for a routine checkup with my primary care doctor. She informed me that I was pre-diabetic and my thyroid levels came back abnormal.😬
I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism. That’s something I don’t expect hearing at 42 years old. I left feeling frustrated with no idea where to begin.
🔍I continued trying fad diets and just gaining the weight back. I learned these quick fixes, but nothing that would last.
🌷December 2018, I heard of the upcoming challenge that AF had to offer, . I felt this was my opportunity to change myself. I didn’t want to bring the same old mess that I was, into another New Year.
When I first signed up at AF I was nervous, hesitant, and terrified. I am a people pleaser with zero self-confidence.
😙Everything I do is always for someone else. Even though this change was a positive change, I was afraid to get uncomfortable and afraid of what people would think of me.
However, I felt so much love when I walked into the doors of Fit Body Boot Camp.
💪The environment is so encouraging, supporting, and everyone is cheering each other on. AF helped silence those negative thoughts I had about myself.
However when I put it in perspective, year after year I have been telling myself I am not good enough, I don’t have time to work on my health, and I can’t do this.
😍I believed it. So every day I spoke positive affirmations, I eventually started to believe them. I have the power to change my life, I am in control of what I eat, I am stronger than any excuse, I love my body, I am beautiful.
Thoughts are powerful. I spoke negativity into my life for so many years and it stunted my mindset and growth. This is why year after year I was incapable of accomplishing my goal, because I had the same mindset.
I always thought that the reason I wanted to eat right and go to the gym, was to lose weight. However, throughout my journey, I discovered that my reason became much more meaningful and stronger than just wanting to lose weight. 💥
I found that I wanted to practice healthy meal prepping and exercising regularly, because I do not want to get diabetes like my parents and grandfather.
I want to practice healthy meal prepping and exercising regularly to be healthy, so I can live longer for my children, to live life to the fullest without health limitations, so I can live a healthy fulfilling life!
🕶Week after week I was feeling sore, but I also noticed not only was I physically changing, but mentally. My co-workers began to take notice I was more outgoing and confident.
I had more energy, my mood improved and most of all, I gained the confidence to look in the mirror and appreciate who I am on the inside and out.
🔥 I appreciate the opportunity that was given to me. I created a habit that helped me build a strong body and a strong mind." 🔥
WOW... Now there is a transformation journey. Thanks for sharing Jessica
